The film is a collaboration of passionate and supportive individuals and organisations with Jason Bray (director/producer) and Mike Crowhurst (editor/cinematographer/producer) at the helm. Street Dreams explores the world of girls trafficked into the South East Asian sex trade, and those trying to save them. Through interviews, hidden camera footage and input from those working on the edge, Street Dreams is a raw and gripping look at the hopes and dreams of those struggling to free themselves from the ruthless international flesh trade that threatens to consume their very souls.
Our goal is to raise awareness of the brutality of the global human trafficking industry, focusing in particular on the many under-age girls who are being forced into sexual slavery. Through films like Street Dreams and tour events like this one, we want to showcase the incredibly diligent, brave and sacrificial people who are fighting these injustices so that viewers who are new the issue can feel inspired and equipped to combat it as well. Through the film, there are amazing stories of resilience, rescue and renewal, complete with a dramatic attempt to save a girl from her captors and moments of sheer awe in the sacrifice one human is willing to make for another.
The Street Dreams Tour was presented with our touring partner Destiny Rescue who helped organise venues to screen the film plus gave a local face to an organisation who are successfully fighting human trafficking.
